Once invasive species are identified, take action to limit local spread. Management activities to control dispersal vary based on species, site, and size of spread. But a few principles ring true in almost all situations:

• Ensure vehicles, gear, and other equipment are clean of soil, seed, and plant parts
• Limit moving soil or gravel from contaminated sites
• Contain adjacent infestations movement along roadways, railways, drainage ditches, and waterways
