Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator Position Posted – Applications Due by December 27

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an experienced professional with a strong interest in shaping APIPP’s aquatic invasive species work. The Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator (AISC) is a lead member of the APIPP team who works in partnership with NYSDEC to protect the Adirondack region from the negative impacts of invasive species. The AISC develops, manages, and advances conservation programs, coordinates and implements aquatic invasive species prevention and management efforts with contractors, partners, and volunteers, and provides technical leadership and support.

The minimum qualifications include the following background and track record:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in natural resource management with a focus on aquatic invasive species or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Master’s degree and five years of experience preferred.)
  • Experience managing natural systems.
  • Experience managing staff, contractors or volunteers.
  • Experience using software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems and field data collection techniques. (Experience managing and analyzing large quantities of data preferred.)
  • Experience in training and formal presentation design/delivery, and excellent communications skills         
  • Must have valid driver's license and experience safely operating small watercraft.
