PRISM-Wide Day of DIY Action!

Join gardeners and community stewards across the Adirondacks in this coordinated day of action against invasive species! On Saturday, September 25th, APIPP is urging everyone to grab their favorite tools, recruit a friend, put on some work gloves, and get outside removing invasive grasses, perennials, shrubs, and trees over this first weekend of Fall. Don’t know how to identify what is growing on your property or know how to control them? No problem! APIPP's online resource library is full of informative materials to help you gain new gardening skills. We’ve also pulled together our Best Management Practices for controlling target terrestrial plants growing in your backyard using hand pulling, mowing, or even smart chemical application techniques.

Post your hard work on social media while you’re out and about in the dirt! Use the hashtag #APIPPDAYOFACTION and we’ll share your good work on our pages!

If you’re looking for a deeper dive into tips and tricks for treating invasive species growing on your property, please join us the following week for an online training, Backyard Invasives: Identification, Control, and Management Tips to Prep Your Garden for Fall, Thursday, September 30th 10-11:30 am hosted over Zoom.
