Preparing for the Emerald Ash Borer @ St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive beetle that feeds on and kills all species of ash trees and is now known to be in our area. If you have ash trees in your yard or throughout your woodlot and would like to know how to prepare for and manage the impacts posed by EAB, join speakers Aaron Barrigar (St. Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District Forester and ISA Certified Arborist) and John Payton (National Grid Senior Supervising Distribution Forester) as they discuss this topic.

The workshop will cover how to decide whether to treat or remove your ash tree(s), what to look for when hiring an arborist, managing your woodlot after EAB, and the danger and liability infested ash trees present. This event is free to attend, open to the public and will be held at two separate locations for your convenience.

RSVP: For more information or to register for the workshop please contact Kristin Ballou, Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District Forester at (518) 651- 2097

Presented by the St. Lawrence and Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, National Grid and in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, St. Lawrence County EAB Taskforce, and Franklin County EAB Taskforce.
