APIPP’s Brendan Quirion and Zachary Simek along with SUNY Cortland’s Andrea Dávalos will present the results of a seven year invasive Phragmites australis management project in the Adirondacks recently published in the scientific journal Biological Invasions. Management of Invasive Phragmites australis in the Adirondacks: a cautionary tale about prospects of eradication demonstrates success but emphasizes points of caution for those seeking to control large infestations. After treating and monitoring 346 infestations annually since 2010, the presenters will share pragmatic results on probability of Phragmites eradication and reappearance.
