Invasive Species Control & Management for ADK Transportation Professionals

Invasive species can destabilize economic, environmental, and infrastructure systems that North Country communities rely on. Presented by the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program, this free, one hour, online workshop will help professionals managing transportation and utility corridors prevent the accidental introduction and spread of invasive plants living on land and in water in the Adirondacks.

Transportation and utility corridors are some of the highest pathways for the introduction and spread invasive species to new areas. When local agencies, municipalities, equipment operators, project managers, and crew members learn how to prevent the spread of invasive species in their daily operations, we can all help protect the land, water, and infrastructure this region depends on. This workshop will review top invasive plants to look out for in the field, as well as low cost, effective strategies to prevent their spread, protect infrastructure, and conserve regional natural resources.
